A day with nothing to do...

Our first day in California we did nothing but sit around the house with some of our favorite family members... Grandma, aunt Kathy, and cuz Mellissa.  Sometimes the most simple days are the best and I cannot tell you the last time Mike and I had a day off together.  It was so wonderful to drink coffee all day while the rain came down.  There was so much cooking and delicious food for us to share.  Mellissa and I even went down to the general store on the corner and bought scratcher tickets.  We won $17 but then Mellissa went back down and bought more tickets with our winnings and we won nothing... Oh well it was fun.  The best part of the day was watching Tommy build and create relationships with his family members.  Tommy loves his Grandma like crazy, and he loves to flirt with his aunt Kathy, but yesterday Tommy really took a liking to his cuz Mellissa.  They are 28 years apart but it was so cute to watch them play and run around together.  Tommy had Mellissa trained, when he bonks the floor with an object of any type Mellissa jumps and reacts and Tommy just thinks it's the best thing that ever happened. It was so cute to watch him follow her around the house and look for her.  My world has been a little stressful lately and this day was much needed.

Thankful

I am so Thankful to have food on the table and leftovers to take home.
I am so Thankful for my family... enough said.
I am so Thankful that Mike is a good cook... because I am not.
I am so Thankful for Tom Henry and all the Joy he brings to my life!

Tonight was a wonderful Thanksgiving full of yummy food, family time, and wine!  At the end of the night Tommy looked at my Mom and said bye Grandma and it was enough to bring the two of us to tears!  Check out our day below!
Cooking for the big day!  This boy loves to cook!
 Watching the parade!
Playing with a new toy from Great Grandma!
Dessa made crab pizza and it was so good!

 Love these two!
 Aunt Dessa and Tommy!

Tommy sat at the head of the table.  See him way down there!
 and there was wine...
 and more wine...
and then Tommy played in Pa's (Grandpa's) van.  He even found his glasses!

This makes me laugh so hard!
 And then there was pie!

So much to be thankful for... from a scrapbookers perspective.

I am so thankful for my scrapbooks.
I am so thankful for all the people who fill the pages and who share so many wonderful memories with me.
There is one subject I am particularly thankful for, Tom Henry.
I am so thankful that my Mother and I share a crazy passion for scrapbooking and we spend so much time together taking part in our hobby.
I am so thankful that 80 years from now Tom Henry's family, will comb through my scrapbooks and see his life unfold.
I am so thankful for all of my scrapbooking friends and family members.  I love all the hours we spend together getting our pages just right.
I am so thankful for my scrapbook room.  My get away space that is just mine.

It's becoming a tradition... A quick stop at Michael's on Thanksgiving to take advantage of some great deals!

18 months old and so sick

Tom Henry,
I cannot believe 18 months and come and gone so fast.  I will admit there are still moments when I look at you and I am amazed that you are mine!  I love that your Dad and I have a home filled with little boy toys!  I love that you won't leave home without your fishing pole and you love to watch your Father cook (I hope you pick up some good tips).  On October 30th you turned 18 months and you were oh so sick!  The good news is you recovered quickly like you always do and you were ready for some trick or treating action the very next day!
Love,
Mom

Lauren and Brian get married

Well it was a long time coming but boy was it worth the wait!  Lauren and Brian got married!  The wedding embodied all that they are!  It was full of love, the details were amazing and so carefully planned, and it was a blast!  I have been to many weddings in my time and this ranks right up there with one of the best if not the best!  Mike and I were childless for the night so we took full advantage of every moment, we went wild and had a blast!  Nothin like getting Mike on the dance floor!  And who could forget the bridal party dance off, men vs. the maids!  Lauren and Brian I am honored to be your friend and I wish you health and happiness!

Tommy says his name!

Well Tom Henry here you are at 18 months old and this is the day you said your name for the first time!  The name Tom is so special!  We gave you your first name "Tom" after your Grandpa Tom and what an amazing man he was.  You should also know my Great Grandmother named her first son Thomas, my Grandmother named her first son Thomas, my Mother had no boys, and I named my first son Tom.  What a great tradition.  Tom is such a wonderful strong name and I hope you soon realize just how special it is!
Love always,
Mom
